Sure, it's winter, but there are still thieves about. My colleague Pedro Hernandez at the Enterprise IT Planet Green blog warns that thefts are growing but that there are no actual statistics available yet.

And if you find some solar panels on eBay that seem too cheap to be true, perhaps they were stolen? ISPs want to be green and want to save money. Many have remote installations that need solar (and wind) power even if it's more expensive. So if you have solar panels, guard them.

At ISP-Planet, we've heard of panels damaged by guns (2001) and by birds (2003) but not yet by thieves.
